Comparison

QuantParadox vs TrendSpider

Both are no-code and both have AI. The difference is what happens when the backtest comes back looking good.

What TrendSpider is

TrendSpider is a multi-asset market research platform combining automated charting, scanning and a no-code strategy tester, with AI assistants layered across it.

The short answer

TrendSpider is the broader research tool — more asset classes, better charting, a scanning engine we do not have. We are the narrower and more sceptical one: forex, a decade of minute data, and an out-of-sample verdict on every run rather than a backtest you have to interrogate yourself.

When TrendSpider is the better choice

Written without hedging, because a comparison page that cannot name a reason to pick the other product is an advertisement wearing a lab coat.

One platform across many asset classes

Equities, ETFs, options, futures, crypto and forex in one interface, with cross-asset scanning. We cover 30 instruments and nothing else.

Automated charting and pattern recognition

Trendline, Fibonacci and pattern detection drawn for you, on a charting layer far more developed than anything we offer.

A market-wide scanning engine

Agentic scanners hunting the whole market against your criteria. We have no scanner — you bring the strategy.

Very deep historical storage and a broad broker ecosystem

Decades of stored data for eligible symbols, plus bots that route signals to a long list of brokers.

Where QuantParadox is the better tool

No per-run limit on the history you test

TrendSpider's backtest depth is capped per run by plan — from 2,000 candles on the entry tier to 30,000 on the top one. On a five-minute forex chart 2,000 candles is roughly a week. Our runs address ten years of minute data directly, on every tier.

Out-of-sample grading by name

Their Variance Explorer and no-go flags test parameter and symbol sensitivity, which is useful. What we could not find is a time-based train/test split — the specific thing that catches a strategy fitted to its own history.

Forex modelled as forex

TrendSpider supports forex as one asset class among many; we found no published detail on FX spread, swap or pip handling. Our engine was built around currency-market behaviour: sessions, the dollar index, currency strength, liquidity structure.

AI that has to prove the improvement

Their AI assistant is a strong research and code-writing companion. Ours has a narrower job: change your strategy, then prove the change helps on data it has never seen — and show you the attempts that failed.

Side by side

Checked against TrendSpider's own published documentation and pricing on 29 July 2026. Where we could not verify something we say so rather than guessing.

Questions people actually ask

Is TrendSpider good for forex backtesting?

It supports forex and its strategy tester is no-code and capable. Two things to check against your needs: each backtest run is capped by plan at between roughly 2,000 and 30,000 candles, and we could not find published detail on how it models FX spreads, swaps or pip value.

Does TrendSpider do walk-forward or out-of-sample testing?

Not under that name. Its Variance Explorer tests up to hundreds of symbol, timeframe and parameter combinations, and no-go flags mark statistically implausible strategies. Neither is a time-based train/test split, which is the specific test that catches a strategy fitted to its own history.

Which has the better AI?

They are aimed at different things. TrendSpider's assistant is broader — research, chart reading, writing indicators, scanning. Ours does one job: propose changes to your strategy and prove out-of-sample that they help, including showing you the ones that did not.

Do I need both?

Plenty of traders would benefit from both, and they overlap less than the feature lists suggest. TrendSpider is where you scan and chart across markets; this is where a forex strategy gets graded before you risk anything on it.

The only comparison that settles it is your own strategy.

Build it or import it, and see the out-of-sample verdict for yourself — including when the verdict is that it does not work. Five full backtests free, no card.
