Comparison

QuantParadox vs Forex Tester

One trains your hand. The other tests your rules. Most traders who need one do not need the other.

What Forex Tester is

Forex Tester is a trading simulator built around visual chart replay, letting you step through historical data and place trades by hand — with automation and an optimiser on its higher tier.

The short answer

If you trade discretionarily and want to practise reading and executing on historical charts, Forex Tester is the better product and this comparison should end there. If your strategy is a set of rules and the question is whether those rules hold up on data they were never fitted to, that is a different tool and a different job.

When Forex Tester is the better choice

Written without hedging, because a comparison page that cannot name a reason to pick the other product is an advertisement wearing a lab coat.

Purpose-built for discretionary practice

Bar-by-bar and tick-level replay with realistic execution mechanics is the right way to train your own judgement. We do not offer manual replay at all.

Prop-firm challenge simulation

Practising under funded-firm rules before paying an entry fee is a genuinely good idea, and they have built for it specifically.

Buy it once

A lifetime licence with no recurring fee, against our monthly subscription. For a tool you will use for years that maths favours them.

Deep bundled tick history across many instruments

Up to 23 years of tick data across a wide instrument list, included and ready to use, with no data sourcing on your part.

Where QuantParadox is the better tool

The question is different, and so is the answer

Replaying history by hand tells you how you behaved. Grading a rule set on unseen history tells you whether the rules have an edge. Both are worth knowing; only one of them survives being repeated a thousand times.

Out-of-sample grading as the headline number

We could not find a walk-forward or out-of-sample split documented anywhere in Forex Tester's materials — which is unsurprising for a manual-practice tool. It is the number we lead with.

An AI that improves the strategy and has to prove it

Their optimiser advertises machine-learning methods, including an accuracy figure published without a stated methodology. Every improvement our brain proposes is re-tested on data it has not seen, and we publish the failures alongside the wins.

It runs in a browser and exports code

Nothing to install, and a validated strategy leaves as MQL5, Pine, Python or LEAN so it can actually go and trade somewhere.

Side by side

Checked against Forex Tester's own published documentation and pricing on 29 July 2026. Where we could not verify something we say so rather than guessing.

Questions people actually ask

Is QuantParadox a Forex Tester alternative?

Only partly, and it depends what you use it for. If you replay charts to practise discretionary execution, we do not replace that — we have no manual replay mode. If you use it to check whether a rule-based strategy makes money, we do that job with out-of-sample grading it does not appear to offer.

Which is better for passing a prop-firm challenge?

Forex Tester has built specifically for challenge practice under funded-firm rules, and for rehearsing execution that is the right tool. We help with the prior question — whether the strategy you intend to take into the challenge has an edge that holds on unseen data.

Do I have to install anything?

Not with us — QuantParadox runs in the browser. Forex Tester offers a browser-based product as well as its older Windows desktop version.

Is a lifetime licence cheaper than a subscription?

Over several years, very likely yes, and that is a fair reason to choose them. We charge monthly because the archive, the grading and the AI training run on our infrastructure rather than your machine.

The only comparison that settles it is your own strategy.

Build it or import it, and see the out-of-sample verdict for yourself — including when the verdict is that it does not work. Five full backtests free, no card.
